Would you like to add your blog or website to our Network of conservative bloggers? We are a strong conservative group from a wide variety of backgrounds. We understand the values and beliefs that built our country and made us the best nation in the world are under assault. We're doing out blogging best to fight the erosion of those values, share issues of importance and promote conservative candidates for elected office across the country.
How to add your blog or website:
Please visit this link: http://rmlnblogroll.blogspot.com/, copy the blogroll code (3/9/09) or one of the logos on the sidebar and place it on your sidebar within the top 1/2 of your blog or website. The logo or blogroll should be prominently placed and should not be on a secondary page or toward the bottom of the page.*
The logo should link to www.readmylipsticknetwork.com. The blogroll is self-updating with a list of all current members. Anytime we add a new member it will automatically show on the list.
If your blog doesn’t accept / allow blogroll codes, please send us an email and ask for the logo to add to your sidebar. The logo should be linked to: http://readmylipsticknetwork.com. We would appreciate it if you would add the member blogs and websites to your link list or favorite list! Click here for a list of current members.
Send us an email when you’ve posted the blogroll or added the logo link and we’ll review your blog for suitability and then, if approved, get your blog added!
Click here for our "Welcome Message" for even more information.
*If you have a situation that doesn't allow you to meet the requirements, please talk with us.
Membership Requirements
We're pretty broad in our "requirements". We're not trying to be picky, but this network has specific goals and we need all of our bloggers to be working toward those goals. There are a lot of great networks on the Internet and if your blog isn't suitable for this particular network, we know you'll be able to find one that fits better. If your blog is turned down, please don't take it personally!
- Blogs must primarily be political, activist and / or conservative in nature. A minimum of 90% of the content must fall into those categories.
- Blogs should be supportive of conservative issues and candidates.
- Blogs should be "family friendly" which means no cursing, questionable conent or nasty personal attacks.
- Blogs should not promote a business or other activity or cause, although it's fine to have a link or ad on the sidebar for a business or similar. If your blog focuses on a health issue or non-profit organization that relates to a health issue, it would not be suitable for this particular network. If your blog has a business title ("wecleanhouses", "buyahousefromus", "eatatmyrestaurant", etc.), it would not be suitable for this network. If you have a family blog that discusses family issues with an occasional blog about a conservative issue, it wouldn't be suitable for this network.
- Bloggers should be willing to support conservative candidates. More than likely the candidates will be Republican given our political environment, although that is not a given.
- We encourage individualism and don't expect our bloggers to walk in lock-step, however we do expect all to fall within the broad definition of "conservative".
- Blogs must display the Read My Lipstick Network blogroll or linking logo on the sidebar or front page of your website.
- Bloggers must either sign up for email updates (left sidebar) or "follow" the Read My Lipstick Network blog (http://readmylipsticknetwork.blogspot.com) in order to be kept informed of current issues, new blog members, etc. At most you'll get one email a day if you sign up for email updates (and many days you won't get any updates!).
Our Purpose (or why we do this!)
We believe we live in the best country in the world. We believe in the values and principles it was built upon. We believe in the Constitution and believe it is under attack. Our country is under attack from within and without.
During the 2008 election it became crystal clear to a small group of us that if we didn't fight for the values and principles we believed in, there was a good chance our country would soon change irrevocably. Freedom of speech, freedom of religion, individual responsibility, free market principles and so much more are at stake.
We started in support of Sarah Palin as she was the one who galvanized us and helped to crystallize what was at stake. As we watched the liberal left, the progressives, the mainstream media skewer this beautiful, principled woman, we realized we had to go further.
We started blogging. We started talking to friends. We started networking.
Somewhere in the midst of all that, the Read My Lipstick Network came into being. It started as just a few blogs and as we networked, it grew.
We are not doing this for self-aggrandizement. We're not looking for credit or to be the top dog in the fight to see who comes out on top in the conservative movement.
We see our role as support for ALL who choose to fight for their values.
Our goal is not to be on Fox News, it's to change the world <g>.We expect members to help in that goal. Our members should be willing to support and help promote their fellow Network members. We're in this for the long haul.
